WIP Wednesday & Toby & Santa

Hmmm what to tell you about first....my WIP or Toby and Santa.

My WIP is still my Hue Shift Afghan for my dad.  I have more squares finished since the last time I showed you.

I am almost done with one big block (6x6 little blocks).

Now, onto Toby and Santa...I was at knit night last Thursday at the mall we call the Galleria and Santa was right behind us.  Someone spotted this sign:

I thought to myself that this is awesome.  I got home and looked at my cute and cuddly puppy and actually asked him, "Do you want to meet santa?"

This is how he looked at me:

Not sure what he meant, but I thought, "Great, we're going!"

After waiting in line and Toby getting super excited to see so many dogs, he finally got to meet Santa.  Let me warn you, it has a high cute factor.

He was even licking Santa's face at one point, but the camera lady needs quicker reflexes to capture these moments.

Hope you have all had a great week!!

WIP Wednesday

I'm still working on my dad's Hue Shift Afghan, I have 20 squares done now.  That means only 196 more to go!

Even though I haven't touched it in a while, I plan to though.  Here is the current status of my Linen Stitch Scarf:

I think I'll need about 10 more rows.  For me though that is 10 more hours of work.  Yes, one row takes me an hour.  In my defense it is 500 stitches across.

Also, I went to Pittsburgh Indie Knit and Spin over the weekend and this is my purchase which will become a Color Affection.

...and here's your regular scheduled Toby update.  I told you last week that he likes to sit with me and watch me knit and now I have a photo to prove it.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

FO Friday - Button Hat

Hi everyone, I have another finished object to show you!

It is my button hat:

Details:
Pattern:  Candy Stripes and Sprinkles
Yarn:  Malabrigo Yarn Rios - color Archangel - main color
Malabrigo Yarn Merino Worsted - color Uva - brim and button band
Berroco Vintage Chunky - color Pumpkin - underneath button band

I really like this hat.  I don't have a picture of me wearing it because I actually still have to weave in all of the ends...I keep procrastinating on it so I can work on my blanket.

I've linked up with Tami's Amis.

-Sam :-)

ps.  Toby likes to move the Draft Buster (just found of the name of the thing on a Bed Bath & Beyond ad) and lay by the door.  I don't know how it does it, a draft comes in and it is chilly.

pay no mind to the clutter in this picture...I couldn't resist showing you how he sleeps upside down

WIP - Wednesday

I told you a few times about my attempts to make my dad a blanket.

This is the yarn:

I attempted this pattern

and this pattern

Neither of them really made me want to make the blanket.  I wasn't excited to make it and that was not good.  My dad is 6'3", so really tall.  He asked that if I ever make him a blanket that it be big enough for him, meaning at least 60"x80".  I have to really like the pattern I'm going to do because that is huge!

Then I saw the Hue Shift Afghan.  I thought it was super cool and I really wanted to cast on right away.  That is the feeling I needed for this blanket.

I had to modify the pattern to be rectangular and to be the dimensions that I need.  This is my plan:

I have 15 squares done so far, but here is the picture with 14 complete.

I'm really excited for this pattern.  It is really the only thing I'm working on at the moment.  I really want to finish my Linen Stitch Scarf, but I'll have to do that slowly.  Also, I have another small project to show you on Friday!

I've linked up with Tami's Amis, Small Things, and Frontier Dreams.

...and I'll end with a super cute picture of my puppy, Toby.

He thinks the chair is now his seat.  Its not, its where I sit and knit and crochet and sometimes he's in my lap while I do those things.

FO Friday - Infinity Scarf

So, I know it's been a while.  Over a month...I checked.  Life got in the way and got really busy!

I finally have a finished object though.  I finished my Infinity Scarf.

The pictures don't do it justice, but I didn't have time to get better ones.

I'm going to link up with Tami's Amis.  Happy Friday!

Sam :)

PS.  Here's a picture of Toby sleeping like a goofball.

WIP Wednesday and an Update

Holy smokes!  Its been a month since I posted!!  My life has been pretty hectic.

This guy has completely come out of his shell and is absolutely adorable:

Toby does the head tilt when you whistle at him.

He likes to scatter his toys all across the floor and grab towels as well.

He has been added to my wall at work.

His carrot is his favorite toy.

He loves to just chill outside.  He'll just sit there and look around.

He loves to visit his brother George at my parents house.

He was neutered last week and this was the only position he felt comfortable on day one.  The cone head was driving us all nuts because he couldn't play or eat or do anything with it on.  If it took it off he tried to lick his stitches.  My parents neighbor had a suggestion and the vet said it was perfect.

We put him in a baby's onesy.  He fits in about a 3-6 mo size.  We put it on him backwards so that the front is on his back.  That way it snaps right around his tail.  He can run around and play, eat and drink, and no licking of the stitches!!!  It works so well and he doesn't mind having it on.  The stitch comes out on Sunday and then he won't have to wear it.

Toby has now taken over my wall at work.

Toby spent the weekend with my parents because I was on a trip.  My dad kept teasing my that I wasn't getting my dog back because Toby was snuggling with him.

Too many dog pictures?  Get on with the WIP pictures? Will do.

So what have I been working on this past month.

First up, Drops Blankets:

I have 4 more squares done.  That's it, just 4 more.  Here's the other 10 I showed you before:

Next project is my Little Square Baby Girl Blanket:

 That's right, one more square.

So you are probably wondering, what have you been working on?

Next project is my Linen Stitch Scarf:

One row of this scarf takes me about an hour.  I've been working on this a lot, but it is slow going.

Next project that I've been working on, but not as much as my Linen Stitch is my Diamond Sock:

I don't work on this too often because I have to concentrate to not mess up the pattern.  I had to set it down one day when Dave started to talk to me.

Nest and final project is my Infinity Scarf.  I have been spending a lot of time on this one:

I am in the middle of my 3rd skein of yarn and I am going to use 5.

Now back on August 2nd, I showed you a blanket I started for my dad.

I've been having second thoughts about the pattern.  I didn't like how loose it looked and felt.  I even went down two hook sizes and the very tall stitches, the trebles, just seemed like a toe could push through.  That is a requirement from my dad by the way, no holes that toes could push through.  So, I started an Oblong Wooleater.

Check out the pattern pages and help me out Wavy Blanky and Oblong Wool Eater, which would you choose?

Since I'm working on so many projects I've just linked up the names of the projects with my ravelry pages if you want to know any details.

I've linked up with Tami's Amis, Small Things, and Frontier Dreams.

Sorry this was so long.  I felt like I had to catch you up on everything......okay maybe I was just gusing about my puppy with a ton a pictures.

Sam :-)
