I've finally finished it! My ripple is complete!!! Want to see?
It ended up being 52"x76" (132 x 193cm)!!!! As you can see above, I can lay on the couch and be completely covered!!!!
I'm so excited that its done.
I did a very simple border. Who knows, I may add to it later.
I struggled to get a full picture of it on the floor, but here's my best shot.
Look at all the color!! I love it!
What do you think? I love it! I started it in January, so this blanket is the biggest and took me the longest.
Details:
Pattern: Neat Ripple Pattern

WIP Thursday?
I tried really hard to get this post out yesterday, but it just wasn't going to happen.
I have a lot to show you. My largest bit of progress is actually on my knit vest.
I have the whole back piece finished:

I also have a good portion of the front done:
I know this last part of my ripple has been dragging and it has for me too. Right now I'm working on the border:
I have two rounds left to go and then I am finished!
I started a new project last week and I actually started it a bunch of times. I just couldn't get it right at first. The project is a shawl, the whippoorwill, to be exact. This is all I have done right now:
I'm using my Wollmeise yarn and it is gorgeous.

WIP Wednesday - My Ripple and Little Square Baby Blanket
I'm posting twice today because I wanted to give you a final WIP on my ripple. I have finished all of the stripes. I just have some ends to weave in and the border. So I think this will be the last update until it is complete.
I was doing pretty good with weaving in the ends as I went, but I was getting nervous that I wasn't going to finish the rows in time to use the left overs for the baby blanket. The baby blanket has a due date, so I'm going to finish that first then come back to this.
After thinking about it for a while, I think I have finally decided to remove the bright orange in the lower right hand corner. I have enough squares that I don't need those. I just kept thinking that they would stick out way too much. Thoughts?
I'm linking up with Tami's Amis, Small Things, Frontier Dreams, and Ambassador Crochet.

Photography Challenge - Day 2 - 3KCBWDAY2
For Blog Week, today the topic is a photography challenge. Everyone who has been following me lately knows there are two big things in my life right nown my boyfriend's treatments and making sure he stays healthy and my ripple.
My ripple can be found here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, and here. A lot right? It is honestly what is keeping me sane right now. It is almost finished. Honest! I only have 3 rows left, then the border. So, I'm not sure if this is a photography challenge for me, but I know you love seeing this come along.
I've put my heart and soul into this blanket and I'm so happy it is almost finished. I tried to capture the colors and texture a little different as my mini challenge.

Color Lovers!! - Day 1 - 3KCBWDAY1
Hi everyone!
I'm really excited to participate in Knitting and Crocheting Blog Week 2012. This is my first year and I actually did not have any time to prepare any posts at all. I'm taking this day by day.
Today's prompt is:
Colour Lovers
Colour is one of our greatest expressions of ourselves when we choose to knit or crochet, so how do you choose what colours you buy and crochet or knit with. Have a look through your stash and see if there is a predominance of one colour. Do the same with your finished projects - do they match? Do you love a rainbow of bright hues, or more subdued tones. How much attention do you pay to the original colour that a garment is knit in when you see a pattern? Tell readers about your love or confusion over colour.
If you have been following my blog recently, then you know I love color. I love bold saturated colors.
I love these little bright squares of color. I can't wait to arrange them and put them together.
I have yet to find my perfect color in yarn yet. To me it is a deep purple-y pink. I have come close with
but just today, a fellow K&CBW participant posted my ultimate color. It is the last picture in the post. It just so happened to be her ultimate color too!!!
I love purples and pinks.
I also love turquoises and teals and blues. I love saturated colors far more than pale colors.
Yellow and orange have always been scary colors for me, but I'm learning how to work with them.
Choosing a color palatte always depends on my mood. Often, as I've said, they are bright saturated colors. I do have a couple projects where the colors are a bit more subdued and I still love them.
I love having color everywhere. Are you the same? I'm going to go looking for other blog week posts now!

WIP Wednesday - My Ripple and Little Square Baby Blanket
I'm getting very close to the end of my ripple. I got a lot done over the weekend, due to the long hours in the hospital. This is where I was last week:
I had just finished one row of the dark purple (on left in picture above).
Now this week, I am a lot farther along.
As you can see in the picture above, I only have 7 colors left including the rest of the pale pink.
Doesn't it just look so scrumptious and blankety? I'm really loving my blanket and I'm so happy it is for me.
I also have a ton of the little squares completed. I'm actually going to do more than I need because I am doing all of the leftover colors that are not pink or purple. I wasn't going to put pink into a little baby boy blanket, but I was veto-ed on purple by multiple people including the mother to be. I think I'll actually have enough leftover from the baby boy blanket to do a baby girl blanket. Not sure for who, but I'll have all of the pink and purple leftovers, plus some extra squares of the blues, greens, and oranges.
I can't wait until these two are done. The baby blanket needs to be fully completed by May 6th for the baby shower. I made a schedule a while back and I have been sticking to it or doing better. I gave myself a full week to put together the little squares.
I know someone told me before that I was brave for not doing join as you go, but honestly I don't think I can handle join as you go. I need to fiddle with color placement. I enjoy that part, when all the squares are done and you can arrange and rearrange them until they are just so. Join as you go is so final.
So just like last week I am linking up with Tami's Amis, Small Things, Frontier Dreams, and Ambassador Crochet.
Also, I wanted to officially say it here, I am participating in Blog Week next week. Now I have to really do it!
Sam <3
ps. Thanks for all of the lovely comments on my previous post. They really mean a lot to me. I believe that I am pretty good at staying positive, but everybody has some times when they are down and your comments made me feel better.

WIP Wednesday - My Ripple and Baby Blanket
Okay, so, the last week you saw I had just started a yellow row.
I've managed to add a few sets of stripes.
Its really starting to look like a blanket.
Its so big all folded up, but earlier in the week when I was still working on the pink row, I layed it all out on my couch.
Its so big already but I'm not close to being done! I want to be able to lay down on the couch and have my toes covered and have it come all the way up to my neck!! On a side note, are you interested in seeing the blankets at the end of the couch in full? I made them in college. I did not tie dye them myself, but I'd be happy to show them to you if you want to see them.
I have made a ton of progress on the little square baby blanket!! I have 96 squares done! I'm over half way done.
I think this picture below is a little more clear, but it only has one red square.
I can't remember if I've already showed this to you, but this is the yarn I am using to put these squares together.
So what are you working on? Don't forget to check out everyone else over at Tami's Amis, Small Things, Frontier Dreams, and Ambassador Crochet.

ps. Thanks again to everyone who participated in my giveaway! I really enjoyed it.

WIP Wednesday - Ripple, Baby Blanket, and Knit Vest
Thanks for all of the feedback on my Ripple. It seems that no one is sick of my constant updates!! So I'm going to keep the weekly updates coming. I have a few more stripe done since the last time you saw it, but first, I wanted to show you my dining room table. Every once in a while, okay, all the time, it is used as my current project table. Below you can see my ripple, my knit vest, and my little square baby blanket.
I think I'll save my ripple for last. Here's my knit vest update.
I am SO CLOSE to starting the arm shaping. I feel like as soon as I get this back piece done that the front piece with fly by.
My little square baby blanket has become my mobile project. I work on a square here and there as much as I can. My deadline for this blanket is May 6th! Here are the squares I have done so far.
A couple skeins of the color I'm using to put these together have come in. It is a nice rich brown.
Now, here is where I am with my ripple.
I'm linking up with Tami's Amis, Simple Things, Frontier Dreams, and Ambassador Crochet.
Don't forget to enter in my Blogaversary Giveaway!!!!
You could win these lovely items.
