A Few Weekends

The past few weekends have been awesome.  We've managed to relax and have a lot of fun.  Dave has been feeling pretty good, which tends to set the mood.

Three weekends ago we went to a baseball game to see the Pittsburgh Pirates with my parents.  We went into PNC Park early and ate dinner at Rivertown Brewing.

The day was beautiful.  I loved just looking at my city while we ate.

The sky is so blue it looks like I photoshopped it!  I promise I have no clue how to do that anyway.  I loved it.  It did get a little hot sitting in the sun while eating, but I didn't think it was that bad.

The restaurant is on the side of the ball park.  Here was our view into the park.

Dave got pretty warm sitting with the sun at his back.

Our seats for the game were amazing!  It hits me everytime I'm at PNC Park, that it just has the best view.

My mom and I took a selfie!

The game was a lot of fun and ended with a win!

The next day, Dave and I went to the casino to watch the Belmont horse races.  The random horses we picked didn't win, but we had a really good time.  While we were there, our puppies got their hair cut....FINALLY!

They were so tired when they finally got home.

It took me a while, but I got a good picture of them together, looking at the camera.  It is in my bathroom, but beggars can't be choosers.

Even one day after getting his hair cut, Jimmy (on the right with red collar), manages to fluff up his beard so that it gets in his eyes.  I don't know what to do with him!

I think my pups are so cute.  I can't help taking and sharing pictures of them!

They snuggle!

Jimmy didn't want to get out of bed!

Dave and I were getting ready for work and as I was leaving the bedroom to grab something, this is what I saw...

They are just too cute!

This weekend I went out to lunch with my Grandma Betty, Dave, Missy, and Owen!

I think this was his first time in a high chair at a restaurant.  All the other times he was in the car seat sling thingy.

He was so excited when he saw my sister opening his food.

He took a nap after lunch.

I was watching him a bit at my house while Missy took a nap.  He's doing this army crawl type thing so I got all the pillows from the couches and made a circle.  He didn't mind too much.

The dogs would hop in and out checking him out.

Toby was even watching Owen for a bit.

The puppies started to play with each other outside of the circle and Owen wanted to know what was going on.  He was like a litte meerkat.

The pups said, "What did we do?"

Toby played with Owen.

Overall my weekends were pretty good lately and I thought I'd share my pictures with you!

Picture heavy post, but that's how I like it.

I have a small update for Wednesday.

Sam :-)

Edited to add:  I forgot to show you that Owen came to my and Missy's soccer game yesterday!

I don't think he was impressed...

WIP Wednesday

I'm working on the same three projects as last week (Hoodie, Dad's blanket, Royal Jazz).  In the last week though, I've only made progress on two.

I've been very excited to work on my first sweater, English Garden Hoodie (Everything Nice Hoodie pattern).  I finally got beyond the pockets!  It was so exciting to join the pockets to the rest of the fabric.

Now I just have to work about 5 more inches in pattern before I have to pause for the sleeves!

I've started the second quadrant for my dad's blanket and I'm already on the 6th square.

I'm trying to stay on a schedule of about a 1/2 a square a day.  We'll see how that goes...

I'm still considering my Royal Jazz a current WIP, but I didn't touch it this past week.  It is easy TV knitting though, so we'll see how it goes for this week.

I've linked up with Tami's Amis.

What are you working on?

Weekend Update - Part 2 - Saturday & Sunday with Owen

I got to see my nephew, Owen, twice this weekend.  On Saturday my parents had him since my sister and brother-in-law were going to a wedding.  I took my pups to the park with my parents and Owen and then we went to their house.  Then, these photos happened.

He's sitting up pretty good now.  He is SO CLOSE to crawling.  He really likes my puppies.  He likes to grab them and pull them closer.  They couldn't be sweeter with him.  (They play harder with each other than what Owen does.)

He kept opening his mouth to Toby.  I tried to make sure there weren't kisses, but I didn't catch them all.  Sorry Missy!  At least my pups tongues are smaller than Dakota's!

I should have taken a video, because he was just squealing and smiling with them.  It was adorable.

On Sunday we went over to my sister's house and grilled out.  My dad was feeding Owen in his high chair.  Well my dad was talking to all of us and would pause and I captured this moment:

Owen was ready for his next bite and my dad wasn't paying attention!  He was so excited for his food.

I had a really good relaxing weekend.  I did try to get a photo of my puppies again, with mixed results.

This just shows that they really need a haircut.  I think I'll make them an appointment for Saturday.  Poor Jimmy, I brush the hair out of his eyes for the next photo.

I'll see if I can get some WIP photos for tomorrow!

Weekend Update - Part 1 - Early Start to the Weekend

I didn't have any major plans for this weekend, but it turned out to be a pretty good one.  I took a half day on Friday.  It was the last day of our fiscal year and it was my last 4 hours of vacation time.

I went out to lunch with Heather (Amarylis Musings) and another knitty friend Dianne.  After that, Heather and I went to a yarn shop, Knit One.  We decided to go to Knit One because my mom bought me a gift card.  My mom bought me a gift card on Mother's Day.  Yes, you read that right.  She bought me a gift and got me a card for my "fur babies."  She was so excited that she figured out a yarn store to get me a gift card.

Knit One is where Heather and I took our first knitting class.  We haven't made it over there much because they used to only be open one evening (Thursdays, and that's our knit night in a different location).  Knit One now has a new owner and I have really high hopes.  They've added another evening and they've gotten rid of a lot of the yarn that I didn't like.  It was a little sparse, but they are getting new stuff in.
They had some Madeline Tosh left from a large order they got in a couple of weeks ago.  Originally I zero-ed in on Lepidoptra, which is a pink with purple in it.  I realized that I had just got a color like that, my FairyDust in Shalimar Breathless.  So I finally decided to use my gift card on a sweater quantity of Madeline Tosh DK in Cousteau.

I spent a half an hour on a couch there staring at it with ravelry up on my phone trying to find a pattern.  In the end I think I'm actually still undecided.  Any good dk sweater patterns?

Heather came with me with no intentions of buying yarn and yet she walked away with a sweater quantity of tosh dk in Stargazing.

Heather and I spent the rest of the day walking my pups in the park, hanging out, cooking dinner, and watching TV.  She told me I needed a current picture of my puppies on here because all of you need to see that Jimmy is now indeed larger than Toby (I think she is still bitter that she put them in the wrong crates a while back because she couldn't tell them apart. I love you Heather!!  Thanks for being my emergency dog letter outer!  Even if they were so confused when I got home!)

Any how, I thought you should see why I don't have a current picture of my puppies together...because it is SO HARD to get a good photo of them together.

Attempt #1: Toby looks scared because I'm saying, "Here here here!" with my hand in the air trying to get them to look at me.  Jimmy is just not paying attention.

Attempt #2:  They are both looking and you can clearly see that Jimmy, on the right, is now bigger than Toby, on the left.  The photo turned out blurry because I was trying to snap the photo fast while they were looking.

Attempt #3:  Toby says, "What's Heather doing over there?" and Jimmy says, "I think its time to lay down."

Attempt #4:  Toby says, "I'll look at you mama, but I can't make any promises for Jimmy."  Jimmy says, "Now I want to know what Heather is doing!"

Attempt #5: Toby says, "I think I'm going to go find out what Heather is doing."

Attempt #6: Toby looks scared because I told him to sit again and Jimmy is blurry.

Attempt # 7:  I don't know what happened here.  I was losing them to doggy A.D.D.

Attempts #8 and # 9:  I tried to start over, but Jimmy wanted to know what I was doing, he's on the left now.

Attempt # 10:  This is the best that I got.  They are side by side and looking.  Jimmy is on the left and Toby on the right.

Do you see how exhausting that was?  Impossible! Toby still looks worried in the photo!

They were exhausted too because they crashed right after that.

Stay tuned, I have some nephew photos from Saturday and Sunday.  I saw him twice this weekend!

Sam :-)
