WIP Wednesday - Dishcloth and My Ripple

My first knitting project is over halfway done.

My tension is still all over the place, but I'm trying to be consistent.

I have about 14 rows of my ripple done.  Want to see?

I'm really loving this blanket.  The colors are a little washed out in the photo, but it was the best I could do.  I've actually kept up on weaving in the ends too!  I'm surprised myself.

What are you working on?  Don't forget to check out everyone else's WIPs over at Tami's Amis.

  2. The blanket is looking fantastic, love the colours. This knitting project is looking really good, I can't see a problem in your tension.

  3. Weaving in as you go is a great plan! It's very annoying to finish off and then be faced with a big mess of ends. Besides, it's even prettier in photos when it's all tidied up, isn't it?

For a first knitting project, your dishcloth looks awesome. Even tension can be harder in a yarn with no give like cotton; it's a bit easier with springier wool yarns. Well done!

  6. Your knitting is gorgeous.. good for you to start out with a fancy pattern like that! I also love your ripple.. I have a friend expecting a baby boy in April and I think I will do this pattern with blues, greens and purples. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  8. I prefer to weave in my ends as I go. I find it less painful than having to weave in a bunch at the end of the project.

  9. If that is your very first knitting project, I am extremely impressed!!! I assumed from the picture that you'd been knitting for years! And I just love your ripple; the colors are beautiful!

  10. Love your ripple and I'm super impressed that you are keeping up with the ends! I always wait until the end and then get mad at myself about it (in fact, I have 5 granny squares of ends waiting to be woven in right now)!
